Solvite continually strives to make its wallpaper adhesives the strongest available. And Solvite’s TV commercials go to the same lengths to demonstrate just how strong it is. Over the years, commercials have shown Solvite being tested by sticking wallpaper to boats, cars, planes and trains. In the late 1970s a series of TV commercials began showing a stuntman pasted to a board and then suspended from a flying helicopter, hung over a snake pit or dangled over sharks in a feeding frenzy. These commercials became some of the best remembered advertising on British television. So much so that the symbol of the man pasted to the board is still used on Solvite packaging today.
